Re: *NEW* ROH Thread. Keep it clean.

Rush had a program with the Kingdom going back a few months. They should have had him take the belt off of Taven at this show, and save Cobb's ROH undefeated streak for a big match in the fall or even at Final Battle. In a few months time, they could run an undefeated Rush vs. undefeated Cobb title ...

Re: VOW Flagship: G1 Climax Blocks, WWE Stomping Grounds & NOAH

I am 100% convinced Ospreay is beating Okada. Their next big show after G1 is Royal Quest in London. Okada is defending the title there. He is the block with 2 Brits. The Sabre match is a 3rd from the top in Ota. The Ospreay match is the main event in Korakuen Hall which is the building that gets t...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Just looking at the blocks, what do you think about a Goto redemption arc in B Block? He's got the level of opponents to where it wouldn't be shocking to see him get 12 or so points. I don't expect him to win the block, but finishing in the top two or three could do a lot to rehabilitate him. Any le...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

There are very few pairings in the A Block that I'm not looking forward to. Okada, Tana, Ibushi, Ospreay, ZSJ, and Sanada in the same block, plus wild card Kenta. The least interesting guys on paper are Fale and Archer, but Fale traditionally works well with a lot of those guys, and I'm willing to g...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Juice and Nichols are facing G.O.D. on the 25th and again in Melbourne on the 29th. Pretty much telegraphs that they win in Sendai to make the Melbourne match for the titles, right?

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Dominion card is up. It's a mix of good and bad. + Ospreay vs. Lee. No surprise here. After his BOSJ, I'm not going to doubt Ospreay delivering any time soon. + Shingo vs. Kojima. This is going to be awesome. Battle of the lariats. + Moxley vs. Umino. Weird opener, but hey, I guess Moxley is already...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Shingo selling for Ospreay from the get-go gave this match a special aura from the bell. He had run roughshod through the field, swatting guys like Gresham and Titan around like flies, but Will lays into him with a chop in the first minute and he winces and recoils. You know this match is different....

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

Ospreay/Shingo: easy easy five stars. Quite possibly the best match I've ever seen. I won't be able to get to sleep tonight.

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

What matches do you think they'll set up for Dominion on the Finals show tomorrow? Suzuki vs. Liger? RPG3K vs. Bullet Club Jr tag title challenge? Sabre is the on the show despite not working the rest of the tour. Him vs. Yano or Yoshi Hashi? Neither of those sound too exciting, but don't know why t...

Re: VOW Flagship: Moxley on Talk is Jericho & AEW Double or Nothing

Park and Jericho are both way overhyped imo, but at least Jericho makes me laugh sometimes and just stands out more for being so stylistically different than all of his opponents. I don't expect his match with Okada to be any five star masterpiece, but at least I can count on it being totally unlike...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

It was a fun match I guess, but why the fuck is Ospreay, with wins in less time over Ibushi, Fale, and Archer in the past five months, going 25+ with pin-eater Rocky Romero? Boy was I wrong on this one. I thought it was just a throw away match that made no sense in the long term context, but they w...

Re: Strong Style Spirit - New Japan catch all thread

So Tama's out, and so are Kenny, Hangman, and Elgin from last year's field. That means four spots are available. Who do you think will fill them? I think Taichi is a lock for one. As for the other three, best case I think would be Ospreay, Shingo, and either Henare or Chase Owens. Worst case would b...

Re: *NEW* ROH Thread. Keep it clean.

For what it’s worth, Night 3 of the WOTW tour in Grand Rapids MI, Taven had an impromptu title match against Haskins, who was originally scheduled to face PCO, but he wasn’t cleared to wrestle. Outstanding match, I don’t want to spoil the finish but felt the need to recommend it. Card as a whole wa...

Re: *NEW* ROH Thread. Keep it clean.

I'm as entertained by PCO as anyone, but I hope his retirement tour doesn't wear out its welcome. That tombstone he hit on Taven looked sloppy and dangerous, and his table powerbomb on Marseglia was even worse. I'm into the character, but I don't want to see him kill someone or himself in the ring. ...
