Re: Mexico indies

The much hyped Flamita/Mascara Dorada match was this weekend at CaraLucha. I can't say it lived to my own hype at all. It was really shorter than I imagined it'd be & the crowd wasn't as hot as you'd figure compared to last year's Flamita/Rey Horus match & this year's Dragon Lee/Dorada match both f...

Re: AAA

Amazing. It's *almost* as if Dorian willfully has his head in the sand. He certainly seems to care more about name ownership than about who can actually help the roster. This actually kind of reminds me of CMLL's reaction when Místico I left for WWE. "We still own the Místico name," or something alo...

Re: Lucha Show/Matches Sticky

I might be on an island but I absolutely loved the main event on that show. Going in my high end tier of matches this year. Flamita's discus forearm is such a great strike. The Flamita/Dorada interactions were so great... such an awesome tease for Saturday's upcoming match. I'm not sure that I'm qu...

As far as I know, nothing; just more commonly written that way.

Re: Absolute Intense Wrestling thread

(hey, flamita, feel free to come back to dragon gate) I would be shocked if that doesn't happen by, say, September. He's been very forthright about missing Japan, and getting back there is his priority, I think. Which is why, if you're in the general northeastern United States, you may want to thin...

Re: Why Hide My Love of Pro Wrestling?

I don't hide it. I don't actively bring it up to people all the time, but at the same time I keep a handful of lucha masks in my office. Most people, when they comment on them, think they're actually pretty cool. Then again, a couple people in my company have family members who actually are professi...

Re: Mexico indies

What is this "Promociones Reza" (name according to Cagematch) promotion that the Casas/Hechicero match took place for? Cagematch only has this listed as their second event ever with their first being in 2015. Is it a new indie? or just a group that has one off's? "NICE" is the more common name of t...

Re: Mexico indies

Do you think more fans will come to his Indy matches now since he's been on TV and in the middle of this controversy? His runs in Japan and his May/June Mexico indie sprint last year had already established him as a big indie name, and AAA really didn't do much for him. They gave lip service to the...

Re: Mexico indies

Today's observor : "Flamita is in demand for indie dates in Mexico and is also looking at breaking into working regularly in the U.S. He hasn’t had the exposure the Lucha Underground guys have had, but he’s as good as any of them." In a short time since leaving AAA, Flamita has gotten himself booke...

Re: The Lucha Underground Thread

In 2016, none. Don't miss the forest for the trees. Oh, OK; I was genuinely curious if you were referring to a different channel or something. But to the main point: Lucha Underground has only one hour of TV per week. That's not really a lot of time to fill up with concentrated/heated stuff, especi...

Re: The Lucha Underground Thread

When I tune in to Univision or Telemundo for my lucha fix, I'm not seeing this shit bi-weekly. Which, is kind of the point. If there's a feud involving a masked luchador, there's mask-ripping. It's a given in any Mexico promotion. LU being heavy with feuds is a nice change of pace from CMLL booking...
