Re: The JOSHI thread

Goddamit, and she was just hitting her stride as champion too. Mayu was probabaly set to retain otherwise, yes? I wonder where they go from here, I don't see Storm lasting long as champion. Back to Io Shirai? Or you think they wait for Mayu to come back and beat Toni? It looks like for the next Kor...

Re: Underrated/Unheralded Matches

cross post from Chad's thread: If I can make a recommendation, I think you'll really enjoy this. Maybe the most un-NOAH match that's a really great match (ok aside from KENTA vs SUWA which I forgot about as I typed). Taue, Mushiking Terry, Ishimori & Aoki vs SUWA, TARU, Kondo & Yasshi, 12/10/06. Di...

I'm hoping for G+ airs a KENTA or Marufuji special with this footage remastered in High Def.

Re: Best NOAH Matches

KENTA vs Naomichi Marufuji - 10/29/2006 is one of my favorite matches of all time and I know it's also Lanza's as well. Image

I came across this screenshot recently on twitter so now I need to see this in High Def.

Scorpio

Can't believe a thread wasn't created for him. The former GHC Hardcore Openweight Champion was always good in NOAH and he definitely will make my top 50.

I feel like late 90s All Japan Vader was his career revival and this was just icing.

The sprint with KENTA for the ROH title at Budokan Hall was a good one too.

Re: VOW Flagship: Mae Young Classic, AJPW, TripleMania & more!

I can see where people were disappointed in seeing Baszler in the MYC at first cause I had the same reaction when I saw her first tour of Stardom. The main problem is that she's still transitioning not throwing strikes as hard as possible which I saw with Konami too in Stardom this year. Konami is A...

Re: Yuji Nagata

I understand the Kojima comp but Kojima was a big anchor for All Japan while I think if Nagata jumped to NOAH, he would be basically be a buffer like he was in New Japan for guys like KENTA, Marufuji, Morishima, Shiozaki and maybe Rikioh. I think he would've have way more all time great matches but ...

Re: Jun Akiyama

Him being one of the main bookers always clouded my judgment of his in ring work. My gut says top 10 but I have to rewatch his stuff again.

Re: Naomichi Marufuji

I haven't paid attention to much of Marufuji in NOAH for the past couple of years so that's something I have to watch before seeing how he places on my list. My gut reaction is to put him in my top 10 cause of his tag work with KENTA and the breakout year he had in 2006 where made the switch to heav...

Re: Yuji Nagata

I recently re-watched his early NOAH stuff cause Nagata's exit of the G1 made me nostalgic and man ... did he have underrated run in NOAH. Perfect example of him being treated better in NOAH was when he worked the tag with Akiyama vs Misawa & Kobashi in February 2002 I believe (which is a really goo...

WWE Mae Young Classic

Top 5 matches for me in the first round: 1) Yim vs. Logan 2) Sane vs. Blanchard 3) Laith vs. Jazzy 4) Piper vs. Garrett 5) Sugehit vs. Ray The diversity of the roster, not just in terms of country of origin but in styles, was a nice change of pace from the CWC. I also really liked that they let the...
