Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

Wrote about this on Twitter, but figured it might be worth talking about in this topic as well. I just started catching up with the podcast Talking Sheet. The first ep in the queue was one with Chris Harrington from a few months back. It got me to thinking about guys like him and Brandon Howard; spe...

Re: Seth Rollins injured - Survivor Series Title Tournament!

Not a fan of anyone getting injured, but I'm not a fan of Seth in any way so this might be a chance for WWE to get me watching non-C show main roster stuff again. They really could do something different, change things up and present a strong new champ after the lame duck reign that was Seth's. Of c...

Re: Rick Rude vs. Ricky Steamboat (WCW 06/20/1992)

A contender, and a great use of the iron man gimmick. Steamboat is his usual great self, but Rude was in the middle of a monster 1992 run and is on fire throughout the match. The spot where he attempts his characteristic gyrating but can't do it fully because he's selling his hurt ribs is wrestling ...

Re: Dick Murdoch vs. Killer Karl Kox (NJPW 12/09/1976)

Kox punches hard, Murdoch punches hard. They are attempting to beat one another down with strikes, but they surround the strikes with a sturdy structure that gives the strokes more meaning. A contender for my list.

Re: Carlos Colon vs. Stan Hansen (WWC 01/06/1987)

Another contender for my list, and though Hansen is great it's the epitome of a fired up babyface performance from Colon that makes this match something special.

Re: Andre the Giant vs Stan Hansen (NJPW 09/23/81)

Most likely on my list, a wonderful out of control match that has a clearly defined structure despite the out of control nature. Two massive forces of nature colliding and having at it in the best possible way.

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

The way Alvarez handles himself and responds to legitimate complaints is just one more example of why F4W/WON is really not worth any of your money.

Re: PWG 2015

My biggest criticism of Sabre has always been that he had too much of an exhibition style approach to his matches. For the first few years of his career I didn't feel like there was much urgency or believability to what he was doing. Sure, the technical execution was present, but I always felt like ...

Re: The Official All Encompassing Johnny Gargano Thread

1) Fray, you're an unheralded genius. 2) My thoughts on Gargano are pretty well known, but to reiterate; he's the dirt worst. I loathe everything about him as a professional wrestler. His match versus AR Fox from EVOLVE last year ranks easily as one of the worst I've sever seen, and it may not even ...

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

I think there's a real problem with giving money to F4W/WON when one looks at the website for the Torch. Content wise both sites are similar, with the only real edge WON has being that they have Dave. But, just from a pure presentation and layout standpoint the Torch looks and runs like a website wo...

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

Did any of these numerous free sources of wrestling reporting scoop Dave on Randy Orton's shoulder injury, or is that too fresh for someone to claim to have known two weeks ago? I don;t give two fucks about scoops or who reports what first. I care about the quality of the content being delivered, a...

Crowd Sourcing: Workrate Article

Not sure if this is the right place for this post as I'm not exactly plugging, but this is where it's at for the time being. Okay, I've had this article I've been working on exploring the idea of workrate; why it matters, what it is, how different people define it, etc. I've been working on it for s...

Blood, violence, emotion, drama, great brawling, choice flying, and matwork; all of that and more means this will be making my list. I was gonna do a write up about it but seeing as your great review was nearly exactly the same as what i thought I'll just post that instead https://matchaftermatch.w...
