With the surging popularity of UFC and MMA in general, why hasn't anyone tried to bring back this stiffer, shootier style over a whole promotion? Or have I missed something?
Then they'd rather watch MMA itself.

Re: The Lucha Underground Thread

No US weeklie since the 80s has produced this big string of amazing content. Lucha Underground is pretty much perfect in my book, it did to other wrestling shows what The Wire did to other cop shows - ruined them. Even when you have an episode without three star matches, there are still campy backst...

Re: NOAH - Who is NOAH's savior??

Because he's Sugiura and was never perceived a top star, because NOAH was already very deep in a downward spiral, because his reign felt forced in a manner it was obvious they were feeding him opponents in order to break Kobashi's record, etc. I liked his reign because the matches were mostly good a...

Also, from time to time send Ishii and Nagat to work some extended rookie punishment squashes.

Re: NJPW - Young Lions - Excursions

Lion's Gate sounds promising and I hope they bring back the U-30 Championship that basically teahces the future stars how to act like champions. CMLl could send 2-3 guys over, just imagine the endless possibilities. Bobby Zavala vs. Komatsu!

Chewbacca vs. Goblin is easily the most anticipated NOAH match in fucking YEARS.

I sincerely hope it's Lucha Underground's backstage segments and vignettes.

Psycho Circus vs. Los Villanos announced for TripleMania, which will be V3's retirement match! It's so awesome that one of the all time greats will get to retire in front of 20,000 people. Hopefully something for the future comes out of this match, maybe a blood feud between Psycho Clown vs. Villano...

Random Taguchi match plug: His match with KUSHIDA at last year's Destruction was quite amazing.

Re: TNA 2015: It still exists, kind of!

TNA 2015 is a classic. We better enjoy it while it lasts, because I have a feeling the later generations are gonna appreciate this clusterfuck way more than us. I literally don't remember a company (not just in wrestling) having this many fuck-ups in such a short time span. There's something going o...

Re: CHIKARA thread

I started watching Chikara in 2010/11 and they instantly became one of my favorite acts in all of pro-scraps for their amazing stories, whackiness and some excellent under-the-radar workers, but then they went on a hiatus and that was it for me.

Re: WWE NXT 2015

Charlotte/Sasha wasn't as great as their previous two matches, but it was still very good, like ***3/4. Strong finish.

Sasha is a big player in the ballon d'or race.

Re: SATOSHI KOJIMA APPRECIATION STATION

It's not just Kojima, I love all four guys from the "lost generation" (Kojima, Tenzan, Nagata, Akiyama). Akiyama is a different story, but the other three had bad luck of being buried and crapped on by Inoki during the heyday of crazy Inokism. And while they never got to be the new Jumbos, Hashimoto...
