Re: PWG 2015

WCTT are a fun act, but in PWG they had really run their course. By the last show they worked there, the fans were back to booing Joey Ryan again, even though that team is supposed to be faces. In PWG they peaked with the Guerilla Warfare match with the Young Bucks.

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

Well, Bryan and Dave say the site is doing very well, so at the end of the day I guess we're more of a fringe group. You'd think a site that is doing so well could throw more resources at things like say, a redesign that apparently was worked on for over a year and still was not close to being ready...

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

And when you consider how much grief Bryan and Dave give companies when they don't deliver to their customers, it's only fair that they be held equally accountable when their product isn't delivering what it once was. I think this is the other big point. I'll admit that sometimes I like to post thi...

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

-- There have definitely been some issues over the past month, especially with the surprise site launch forced on us by a tech provider. We didn't have a site launch date planned, so all of the testing server stuff you usually have with prior to launch? Yeah, we didn't get that luxury. Tony just po...

Re: F4W/Observer-Is it still worth paying for?

Did Todd Martin jump, or was he pushed? I didn't really dig into it when it happened, but I miss hearing that dude a lot even though I hated him at first. A lot of the details haven't made public but it had something to do with a message board argument between him and their former MMA writer Mike C...

Re: PWG 2015

Just finished Night Two. Show of the year contender, although nothing quite hit match of the year levels. Insane variety on this show. Top three matches for me would be Bailey/Galloway in a great underdog/big man battle, the Lucha Underground tag match, and Hero/Thatcher doing a #Grapplefuck brawl h...

Re: PWG 2015

Just finished Night One tonight as well and thought it was a very good show. Not a ton of variety compared to some recent PWG shows, as everything was basically a spotfest, but there wasn't a bad match on the card. The main event six man was match of the night, and Ospreay/Andrews was right behind i...

Re: Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame (2015)

That isn't how it reads. I don't see the Dog as a GREAT, as in all-time great draw for YEARS. I don't want to argue Dylan's points for him too much, but here is a quote from his post. "1980-84 was the last period in North America where you had ten or more territories that could accurately be catego...

Re: Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame (2015)

So, Dylan...you basically just said he's a "Good Regional Draw" in 300+ words. You equate the Dog being a "good regional draw" to Bryan being a "good worker" sounds silly considering Bryan's going to be a first ballot guy on his work because he's the best of the modern era in North America unquesti...

Re: Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame (2015)

I'll leave the work and influence issues aside for now, but I'd just note that the idea of Punk being a National Draw is one that I would like to see explored further, with an eye toward the tricky questions that may be specific to guys like him and Bryan (like the fact that the very people they at...

Re: TNA 2015: It still exists, kind of!

I stole Cubs' graph to use on a different message board so it's only fair that I cross post my thoughts on it here: If this is how it shakes out, this tournament is a mess. Some brackets are completely done, some aren't. Abyss, Grado and Spud need to each wrestle not one, but two more matches each. ...

Re: 2015 Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame - Panel Discussion

CM Punk: NO I'm a big CM Punk fan, and I can create an argument for him getting in if I try hard, but even then it's borderline. I've seen other people say that if you're 50-50 on a candidate, they shouldn't get your vote, and that's kind of where I'm at with Punk. To me, he's just a tiny bit under...

Re: 2015 Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame - Panel Discussion

The non-wrestler category should be eliminated and dave and few other guys, perhaps historians should discuss or just have him let them in they take votes away from wrestlers, and in a world where Finkel can get more consideration for contributions to the business than Koloff, Slaughter, Sting is l...

Re: 2015 Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame - Panel Discussion

I voted for five of the 13 candidates in US Modern. That isn't "almost all." I grew up watching all but two of the US Modern candidates, but am quite familiar with Slaughter from research. I didn't vote in categories I wasn't comfortable in, as did almost everyone else who turns in a ballot. Singli...
