Re: Dragon Gate

So VerserK is now ANTIAS, which supposedly means 'anti-aging.' They seem like the heel version of Over Generation with the gimmick of the aged members supporting the youth. Also the logo and all their merch are printed backwards which is weird. I do want to give them a chance, though on first impres...

Re: Dragon Gate

I've been guessing that Kagetora will finally convince Susumu to challenge him for FG at Korakuen. I don't think it's been a coincidence that all the MW attacks have been Jimmy teases with the notable exclusions of Horiguchi and Kanda thus far. Just food for thought there... It does feel like we're ...

Re: Dragon Gate

Anyone want to speculate on who's under the Metal Warrior mask this time?

Am I way off base for thinking it might be more than one person?

Re: Music of the Mat Episode 19: The Jimmyz

I think the Jimmyz might be in the running for one unit having the most variations of their theme song. I count at least 7 including the Sumoz and H.A.Gee.Mee!! versions. I think the one played on the episode is the third version. The first has less drums, and softer vocals on the "we are Jimmyz" re...

Re: Dragon Gate

Someone on twitter made an argument that unit disbanding final match was one of the biggest matches in a history of DG, interesting take, can't really agree or disagree since it is not like I've been following DG since Toruymon days. Mochi winning though definitely is one for me, I fully believe th...

Re: Dragon Gate

Wow, I really liked T-Hawk/YAMATO. This is the sort of stuff I wanted when YAMAto won the title last year. I've been critical of T, but this was miles better than his previous Kobe World main event. The crowd was really into it, it had a really engaging story, and I could believe either guy had a ch...

Re: Dragon Gate

Holy shit, DK busted out the Dragonrana. I'm really surprised CK-1 retained. But ending it like that is totally worth it, and I liked the match quite a bit to boot.

When was the last time he used it? Was it one of the Ricochet matches?

Re: Dragon Gate 2015!!!

Eita being out is absolutely the most head-scratching thing DG has done since I started following it. Like what the hell? he's taken to the role so well and he was the only guy in the group who seemed like a fresh heel (well Shingo too to be fair) It's very interesting to see these posts, since Eit...

Re: Dragon Gate

I see the CK-1 title reign specifically designed to transition the belts to Speed Muscle. Now, I don't believe that was always their intention, but to be fair we can assume Yoshino's injury threw a lot of things off the table booking wise. Both CIMA and DK have deep history with Yoshino, and beating...

Re: Dragon Gate

I've generally enjoyed 2017 for the most part. Sure, there are some booking decisions I question, but I do that with Dragon Gate every year. For instance, I will forever say they screwed up the Doi/YAMATO Final Gate match last year by turning Doi face before it. It completely cut the biggest potenti...
