Great stuff!
Ivelisse should get the push that Sexy star gets. She is soo good and I believe that she's a bit wasted in the trio but she plays her role very well.

Hell of brawl between Sexy Star and Mariposa this week. A good amount of blood, and they even let Sexy Star say the F-word uncensored. They may have actually redeemed her character too.

Yeah, the main event came off very well and it pretty much paid off a season-long story and set-up Sexy Star well.

Sexy Star v. Mariposa started off really slow and uninteresting, but holy fuck did they get me into it the last 7 minutes or so. I marked out with the FUCK YOOOOOOOOOU spot and the end felt like a satisfying, emotional ending to that program. Good stuff and kudos to those two chicks for really getting me into it by the end of the match.

I liked the main event more than any other Sexy Star matches to this point in LU, but I didn't love it like so many others. There, I said it. I'll move along now..

Kudos to both ladies for busting their asses to put on a great show though, that deserves major respect!

Becoming an overdone LU trope...tearing the mask.

That's a Lucha Libre trope.

You're right, but its getting a bit obnoxious in LU as it happens every few weeks at this point.

It's one of the pillars of heated lucha libre. Like, literally. Mask-ripping and hair-pulling. Easiest and most logical ways to build an eventual apuesta match. Your post is an equivalent of saying there's too much nudity in porn.

Not quite. Its more like saying every porno clip I've watched has the same money shot to a willing, gaped mouth. Sometimes, brother...I want to see a creampie.

Everything in LU essentially being HEATED is also kind of a problem.

When I tune in to Univision or Telemundo for my lucha fix, I'm not seeing this shit bi-weekly. Which, is kind of the point.

If there's a feud involving a masked luchador, there's mask-ripping. It's a given in any Mexico promotion. LU being heavy with feuds is a nice change of pace from CMLL booking by random card generation and nepotism and AAA not having any idea what to do with their talented guys.

(BTW, what lucha are you watching on Univision and Telemundo? It's news to me that they've aired any lucha recently.)

Is it just me or did the soundtracks for the backstage segments get like a billion times better?

In 2016, none. Don't miss the forest for the trees.

I just like a happy medium...in LU, everything is a HEATED PROGRAM. I like to pump the brakes once in a while. When LU first did the mask ripping in S1...it was a big "oh fuck" moment. It showed the elevation of the feud. Now, its tropey, much like it is in Mexico...which is the point I was making.

Its similar to eye-rolling the WWE-centric tropes when you see'em in TNA. Or some Indie tropes in every Indie. Just because its apart of that culture, doesn't mean in this new, American-ized promotion, they have to lay on the tropes thick. This is the same company that had an apuesta outtanowhere, so its not like we have to be all-in on tropes for the sake of tradition.

That is literally the pettiest thing I've ever seen someone complaining about in my 20 years of markdom, and I've seen them all, and I've been apart of many myself. You live and learn.
