WrestleCon SuperCard 2016

Post by DXvsNWO » Wed Jan 27, 2016 9:14 pm

So WrestleCon has been putting on their own SuperCard during WrestleMania Weekend the last few years, and we've gotten some really interesting cards and unique matches (like Kevin Steen vs. Masato Tanaka in 2014 or Liger/Ricochet/AR Fox vs. Roderick Strong/The Addiction from last year). They'll be running another SuperCard this year on Saturday, April 2nd.

The first match announced is Marty Scurll vs. Will Ospreay.

Also announced for the show thus far include:

- Abyss
- Trevor Lee
- Ricochet
- Sami Callihan
- Jessicka Havok
- Lance Storm
- Joey Ryan
- Colt Cabana
- Davey Richards
- Eddie Edwards
- Andrew Everett
- Chris Hero
- Luke Hawx

It should be noted that this show will be running head-to-head with WWNLive's Mercury Rising 2016 (both start at 8:00 PM). However, since the venues that WrestleCon & WWNLive are running (The Hyatt Regency & Eddie Deen Ranch, respectively) are practically right next to each (less than a mile; about 15 minutes walking distance), I suspect that a few guys may pull double duty.

Pretty good suspicion.

Hopefully very soon they'll be some cool announcements about the show.

I remember when WWNLive basically was Wrestlecon's brand of shows. Whatever happened to that?

They only did that in 2013 when they were in New Jersey. Starting with New Orleans in 2014, WWNLive did their own thing for WrestleMania Weekend (the WWNLive Experience).

Actually, ROH is partnered up (I guess) with WrestleCon this year. Supercard of Honor X is featured on WrestleCon's website (both are using the Hyatt Regency in Dallas).

I loved last year's Con Show and have high expectations for this one as well. Marty vs Will is starting to feel like AJ vs Daniels back in 2004-2007 Indy scene though with every company putting them against each other. I would have kind of preferred both men face off against someone different.

WrestleCon is always fun. I'd take it every day over a WWN show.

If any group books AAA talent you should be sure to go out and support them because clearly they jumped through a million hoops to make it happen. Never in my life have I encountered a company so hard to do business with. Including CMLL who is notoriously impossible to reach but when you do make contact at least it goes smoothly.

Looks like they're continuing a concept they started last year:

Yeah, I decided to go ahead with WrestleCon, and just bought tickets. Lineup looks much more interesting, and I imagine much of the WWN lineup will also be at the Evolve shows, which I'll be at on the Friday.

And GA tickets are about to go up from $32 to $40 due to their claim that the pricing was just for the first 750 buyers.
