Intergender wrestling is on the Network on the 10/15 Hardcore TV with Jazz vs. Jason. Pretty good Tajiri/Guido/Simon Diamond three way dance and RVD/Spike match on here too.

Not much on the 10/14 TNN ep (from this date!). But it is noteworthy for Tammy's in-ring return with Candido vs. Lance Storm and Corino and Rhino taking on a couple of the New Orleans Saints. Super fun Mike Awesome squash vs. Rod Price that goes all of three minutes too.

Mike wrote:The Tammy Sytch stuff on episode 7 is very interesting to watch today. Very strange to run a recap show with PPV matches already again two weeks after they did on episode 5. The HCTV was airing TNN matches too around this time so they must've screwed up their TV tapings. I'll have to read the Observer archive for this.

Rhino vs. Awesome opens episode 6 from 10/1/99 and I would highly recommend the time to watch it. It's short but is a good fight and Rhino takes a disgusting bump at the end.

There is a HCTV from 10/2 that has Rhino vs. Christopher Daniels in a rare, if I think only, ECW TV appearance for him.
Is that the sit down stuff with Smokey Mountain footage?

The October 22nd episode is a very easy watch in 40 minutes with Awesome/New Jack and Sabu's TNN debut vs. Rhino with a few insane bumps.

Watching this show find it's footing - which I don't think it ever did - is interesting to see. I think episode 8, which didn't have any great matches, was a good episode just for the Pulp Fiction deal at the end. For as much as this is not what ECW was in it's glory days in the mid 90s, it's honestly enjoyable rewatching today and I easily like it more now than I was very apathetic to it then.

ECW on TNN Match Rankings-

1. Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn (TV Championship) - 9/17/99 - episode 4
2. Super Crazy vs. Little Guido - 9/24/99 - episode 5
3. Mike Awesome vs. Rhino (ECW World Championship) - 10/1/99 - episode 6
4. Sabu vs. Rhino - 10/22/99 - episode 9
5. Mike Awesome vs. New Jack (ECW World Championship) - 10/22/99 - episode 9
6. Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn (TV Championship) - 9/10/99 - episode 3
7. Taz vs. Tajiri (ECW World Championship) - 9/3/99 - episode 2
8. Tajiri vs. Tommy Dreamer - 10/1/99 - episode 6
9. Rhino vs. Super Crazy - 9/10/99 - episode 3

November has some good looking stuff and very Super Crazy heavy with Crazy/Guido/Spike at the Arena, Tajiri/Crazy, Lynn/Crazy, and Guido/Crazy.

If you like Super Crazy, you have a terrific resume of matches on the TNN show to go through. The three way dance from the ECW Arena on the 11/7 show is a million miles an hour with a great mix of hardcore and flying. The Hidaka series is super fun. Guido and Tajiri matches too.

Watching TNN up to January 2000 now, they are really pushing on the show five separate things. There's the whole Raven/Dreamer stuff, there's Cyrus talking about this mysterious "Network" that on 12/24 is revealed is TNN, there's Mike Awesome as Champ, there's Sabu/RVD that is really been on the Hardcore TV episodes than TNN, and there's Super Crazy/Tajiri/Guido just having good matches every week with nothing really beyond the fact that they are having great matches. It's a lot for the 40 minutes these shows ended up being and is why for many that this series isn't looked at too fondly. But if you focus more on the in-ring without really being invested on the first two things alone, it's not too bad. You factor in New Jack, Da Baldies, Doring and Roadkill, and a few others in the midcard and it's a lot of juggling with getting screen time.

The 11/ 27 TNN show from Chicago which is episode 14 is a lot of fun as an overall show with matches and angles.

Episode 16 from Atlanta, which is the 12/10/99 episode, has the start of the Dusty/Corino feud. The angle they did here is worth watching, as well as Awesome/Scorp. It's from the Tabernacle so it has a real cool look to it. The ECW Hardcore TV episode of this taping has Super Calo vs. Super Crazy.

The Christmas Eve (ep 18) and New Years Eve(ep 19) are a fucking blast to watch and the whole Tanaka/Awesome angle from 12/24 has a super hot Nashville crowd seeing ECW live and a great match to follow. NYE match is even better.

I am still waiting for this show to take a nose dive like I remember it did at the time, but they've all been fine so far. Maybe then we just expected too much out of them. But now they don't seem as bad. Out of the 19 episodes I've rewatched only the Anarchy Rulz recap show and the boring show from the Mid-Hudson Civic Center with Taz vs. Sabu, they've been good.

ECW on TNN Match Rankings by a three tier system- new additions in bold, does not include every match aired

1. Masato Tanaka vs. Mike Awesome (ECW World Championship) - 12/31/99 - episode 19
2. Mike Awesome vs. Masato Tanaka (ECW World Championship) - 12/24/99 - episode 18
3. Super Crazy vs. Little Guido vs. Spike Dudley - 11/5/99 - episode 11
4. Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn (TV Championship) - 9/17/99 - episode 4
5. Super Crazy vs. Ikuto Hidaka - 12/24/99 - episode 18
6. Super Crazy vs. Ikuto Hidaka - 12/3/99 - episode 15

7. Mike Awesome vs. 2 Cold Scorpio - 12/10/99 - episode 16
8. Super Crazy vs. Little Guido - 9/24/99 - episode 5
9. Rob Van Dam vs. CW Anderson - 11/26/99 - episode 14
10. Super Crazy vs. Little Guido - 11/26/99 - episode 14
--
11. Mike Awesome vs. Rhino (ECW World Championship) - 10/1/99 - episode 6
12. Sabu vs. Rhino - 10/22/99 - episode 9
13. Mike Awesome vs. New Jack (ECW World Championship) - 10/22/99 - episode 9
14. Rob Van Dam vs. Jerry Lynn (TV Championship) - 9/10/99 - episode 3
15. Super Crazy vs. Tajiri - 11/12/99 - episode 12
16. Taz vs. Tajiri (ECW World Championship) - 9/3/99 - episode 2
17. Mike Awesome vs. Grimes (ECW World Championship) - 12/17/99 - episode 17
18. Super Crazy vs. Jerry Lynn - 11/19/99 - episode 13
19. Tajiri vs. Tommy Dreamer - 10/1/99 - episode 6
20. Rhino vs. Super Crazy - 9/10/99 - episode 3

Need to rewatch Super Crazy vs. Tajiri - 12/31/99 - episode 19 again before I add it to the list. I want to try to update this again at the end of the month with that and January episodes which include--

Ep 20 with Stairway to Hell ladder match with Credible vs. Dreamer
Ep 21 from Center Stage in Atlanta
Ep 22 from the ECW Arena with a Mexican Death Match with Tajiri and Super Crazy
Ep 23 with Awesome/Spike rematch

ECW did seven PPVs in 2000, Guilty as Charged was held on January 9th in Birmingham. I will likely watch that too since I haven't in forever and would like to watch Awesome/Spike again. There's also a Super Crazy/Yoshihiro Tajiri vs. Jerry Lynn/Little Guido match that is very good too which is no surprise since a mix of all four of those guys has been what has really made these shows enjoyable.

January and February 2000 ECW is something-

- You have Cyrus and The Network vs. ECW and subsequently you have ECW vs. TNN itself.
- Raven vs. Dreamer with Francine beginning a heel turn.
- Steve Corino vs. Dusty Rhodes feuding.
- Unbeatable Champion Mike Awesome.
- Rob Van Dam out with an injury and having to vacate the Television Championship, which he's had since April 1998. He held the belt for 700 days and had 121 title defenses.
- Sabu leaving the company shortly after Guilty as Charged 2000 because apparently he wouldn't put over Super Crazy.
- Sandman vs. Rhino battles ongoing with Lori Fullington returning to the promotion.
- Tajiri/Guido/Lynn/Crazy just having good matches every week.
- The Impact Players being pushed as the second top heel group, second to only the network broadcasting the promotion itself.
- Sign Guy Dudley transforming to Lou E Dangerously.
- CW Anderson, Kid Kash, and Simon Diamond rising in the midcard.
- New Jack vs. Da Baldies.
- Nova and Chetti, Doring and Roadkill, and the Dupps in the tag division.
- ERIK WATTS IN ECW. Managed by the aforementioned Paul E rip off gimmick.
- Mikey Whipwreck and the Sinister Minister hijinx.
- The TNN show being a total of 44 minutes trying to fit all this and so much more. I don't rank the HCTV's but I should go back and look over the matchlistings for those as well.

Coming up in March you have the Living Dangerously PPV and in April, it all goes down where a WWF Superstar beats a WCW contracted wrestler in an ECW ring.

If interested you can find the following notable matches on Hardcore TV for January and February 2000-

1/30/00: Super Crazy vs. Ricky Banderas aka Mil Muertes and Sabu's final televised ECW match against CW Anderson
---
2/6/00: Baldies vs. New Jack and Balls street fight and RVD vs. Masato Tanaka on the 2/6/2000 episode
----
2/13/00: Balls/Tanaka vs. Baldies, Japanese Death Match with Tajiri vs. Super Crazy that is BONKERS, and a street fight with Dusty and Dreamer vs. Corino and Jack Victory
---
2/27/00: Masato Tanaka vs. Angel on 2/27/00 from THE RAVE in Milwaukee.

Which episodes of TV for ECW have PPV matches on them? Clipped or otherwise? I ask because i've seen every ECW traditonal PPV on the network and i was looking to avoid what i would consider filler.

It should say in the description. I know for shows after PPVs pre-99, the HCTV is usually just PPV clips and recaps, like the show after WrestlePalooza 98.

The one January 2000 HCTV showed the Guilty as Charged Sabu/RVD match, but there was original matches on there too.

WWE did a great job gathering together all the big angles and storylines leading into Barely Legal, which will be 20 this year.

March/April 2000 ECW had some good TV matches, a couple GREAT matches, and a below average Pay Per View that probably ranks among their worst.

- Super Crazy wins the TV belt in a tournament after beating Rhino, who was the handpicked winner by the Network. They clearly tried here to put over Crazy to the next level with RVD out and Sabu gone from the company.
- Dreamer vs. Raven moving into Dreamer vs. Francine.
- They ran an exploding barbed wire death match in Asbury Park with Grimes and Balls that never aired on TV.
- ECW branching out TV into markets like Salem, New Hampshire and Kansas City, Missouri.
- ECW on TNN #29 from the ECW is a really great episode start to finish.

April saw the ECW Champion Mike Awesome leave for WCW. He would lose to Taz who would lose to Dreamer who would then lose to Justin Credible. Setting up him and Francine as well as splitting the Impact Players. Tajiri would also turn face after having enough of Corino using him, as part of the scheme for Rhino to win the TV title for the Network.

- I have to watch 4/21/00 episode 35 + 4/28/00 episode 36 but episode 35 is rated TV-MA, presumably for the 8 man bullrope match and the blood in it. I will have to eventually list all the TV-MA episodes on the Network and find out why they have that rating.
