Will be interesting to see how Suwama's return match draws. Might play into this debate.

That is a factor. But not one I think we should pay too much focus to before the cards are on the table.

IF the fans have moved all their focus onto Kento. Then obviously more work needs to be put into Suwama before the eventual title match. But Suwama is a proven draw for All Japan so there's no need to talk too heavily about this before we he's back and actually working shows.

I think Suwama is in perfect position to beat Miyahara. He's got the history and heat, Miyahara can't beat everyone they have without some blow back, refreshes the main event card, we'll see if the crowd's will stay for Suwama's title run. Should be an appropriate end for a fantastic title reign that's put some excitement in the air for the company.

And Kento and Lee can then win the tag league and challenge Strong BJ for the belts. Which would still allow All Japan to put Kento in main events when needed

1163 people for All Japan today in Korakuen. Weakest attendance in a while but also the weakest card this year in the hall. Good to see that the strong attendance in korakuen continue considering the card in place

AJPW “2016 Summer Explosion”, 8/20/2016 [Sat] @ Kobe Sanbo Hall in Hyogo
() Naoya Nomura & HAYATA [DOVE] vs. Yuma Aoyagi & Naoki Tanizaki [DG]
() Takao Omori & SUSHI vs. The Bodyguard & Gabai Jichan [both FREE]
() Yohei Nakajima vs. Billyken Kid [FREE]
() Hikaru Sato & Atsushi Aoki vs. Rey Paloma [DOVE] & Shoichi Uchida [FREE]
() Kento Miyahara, Jake Lee & Shuji Ishikawa [FREE] vs. Ryoji Sai [LAND’S END], Rikiya Fudo [LAND’S END] & Tatsuhito Takaiwa [FREE]
() Suwama vs. Zeus
() Jun Akiyama & Daichi Hashimoto [BJW] vs. Yuji Okabayashi & Daisuke Sekimoto [both BJW]

That card is wild.

They announced a TC match for 8/27 but no challenger. Strongly suspect that's going to be Ryoji Sai based both on how much he's been winning and the fact that the AJPW/Land's End show 6 days prior has him facing Miyahara in a tag.

Based on Suwama getting pinned by Ishikawa today, I see the Oudou semifinals being Suwama vs. Sai and Ishikawa vs. Zeus, with Suwama beating Ishikawa in the final. Sai will eliminate Miyahara to set up the 8/27 title match, while Suwama of course gets the shot at Sumo Hall.

So I've just gotten done doing some cagematch trawling and was hoping to ask a couple of questions.

1. Where did Jake Lee go between 2011 and 2015?
2. What happened to Takumi Soya, Manabu's brother? He looks like a badass but doesn't show up on cagematch after 2012.

1. MMA
2. Retired after suffering a career ending injury from his brother. Something in relation to his orbital bone/area around the eye
