the one major loss this year compared to the last two is that we're not getting that Show Of The Year candidate in Osaka. The Osaka show has been magical the last two years and while it looks fun this time (Shinsuke vs Ishii, Goto vs Okada) it's not going to blow our brains out of our head.

I don't think we're getting Show of the Year candidates, period with the new format. Maybe the final night.

Gone are the days of seven 4-star matches on one show or whatever.

I like how they are spreading this out more. Gives me more time to catch up and also saves some bodies along the way. Also like the idea of getting the juniors involved, allows the show to be spread out better.

Of course that's going to be disappointing to see things like Day 5 from last year's G1 probably go by the wayside, but it's probably going to help these guys stay fresh over the course of the tournament. Perhaps we get more consistent performances over the course of the tournament. And Block A is going to provide just complete craziness in terms of match quality.

really looking forward to this 8/15 show. Okada Vs. Nakamura, Ishii Vs. Elgin, Goto Vs. Nagata, ReDragon Vs. Komatsu and Tanaka, Young Bucks Vs. Finlay and White. Seems like a really really fun show.

Day ten looks so fun. Goto-Nakamura main, Okada-Anderson who always have fantastic chemistry, Ishii-Nagata which I'm all about, Kojima-Honma which could be fantastic, Elgin-Takahashi which I could imagine being sneaky good and KUSHIDA & Naito vs. Ibushi & Dorada on the undercard. That's just a random day I pulled up.

Day three looks like one of the worst NJPW shows in a while. Shibata v Naito is the only match that has any potential.

I think I have unfair expectations for Tenzan vs. Tanahashi. Tenzan's miracle run last year was one of my favorite parts of the whole tournament, so I'm (unfairly) expecting him to do it again.

I'm looking forward to Shibata v Ibushi more than any other match. I think they have a good story to tell, bell to bell.

I really like the way that 8/12 show looks. Okada/Nagata is finally happening and both Kojima/Nak and Goto/Elgin could be a lot of fun.

Oh, and Honma is going over.

The only card that really looks bad is the 8/2 Aichi card. Nothing appealing besides the Joe Lanza Special of Gedo & Okada vs. Anderson & Tama Tonga match. That show can get lost.

Aichi always gets screwed. All of these cards are built for each market/city.

That tag will be good because even if the G1 guys are tired, Gedo is Gedo and Tonga will bust his ass as always.

Is the match order on NJPW the match order for the show. Cause it's a bit weird on the Night 18 that Okada and Nakamura is in the middle of the card while Anderson Vs. Kojima is closing the show.

They never post the real lineup for the last show of the tour so that they don't tip their hand as to what will be the matches that determine the final.

But we all know.
